Technical Support - Microsoft Internet Mail Setup
By default access to RYA Online's e-mail accounts is via the webmail service through your web browser. You can however access your RYA Online e-mail account via a POP3 mail client.
Please Note that if you use a POP3 mail client to access your RYA Online e-mail account, you will only be able to send e-mail when you dial in to RYA Online's system direct. Due to the need for anti-spam rules (to stop unsolicited e-mail being relayed off our server) the RYA Online mail server will only accept e-mail for sending that comes from a valid IP address on the RYA Online system.
We do not supply and so therefore can not support Microsoft Internet Mail
software, however we have compiled the following instructions to help you configure
Microsoft Internet Mail to access your RYA Online e-mail account.
How to configure Microsoft Internet Mail to check your
RYA-Online e-mail
Launch MS Internet Mail by clicking on your Start button,
located in the bottom left usually.
Go to Programs then look for an Internet Mail icon.
When the program appears click on the Mail menu and select Options.

Fig 1
When the Options window pops up, click on the Server tab.
Below is an image that should be similar to what you should be seeing, except
all your fields may be blank.
Every area, with the exception of "Organization" must be filled
properly for your email to work!
In the field named "Your Name Here" type in your full name.
"Email Address" should be your user id (account name) with a "@mistral.co.uk" after
it. ie "bloggs@rya-online.net" -- all lower case, no spaces, no
special characters.
The outgoing mail server should be "post.rya-online.net"
The incoming mail servers should be "post.rya-online.net" for everybody.
Your "POP3 Server" should have your user id in it, with no
capital "B" in front of it!
And of course there is your password, which must be typed entirely in lower
case (unless you have a password with upper case characters).

Click on the Connection tab at the top of this window. A
large majority of our users will be dialing into the internet with modems,
rather than using some kind of network setup. Match up your window to look
similar to the one below.
