Technical Support - Windows 2000 Dial Up Networking

This document assumes that you already have another dial up Internet connection with another provider and that Dial Up Networking and the TCP/IP Protocol are installed on your computer.

If you do not already have another dial up Internet connection on your system you are advised to download the customised configuration program here.

This document will help you manually configure Windows 2000 to connect to RYA Online using Dial-Up Networking. Please read the entire document before attempting to connect.

Creating and configuring a dial up connection to RYA Online

To Create a connection to Mistral in Windows 2000, follow the instructions below.

Go to My Computer and Control Panel. From here, double click on Network and Dial Up Connections as in the image below.

This displays the following window.

Double click on Make New Connection which brings up the connection wizard. 4. Click on Next, select Dial-up to the Internet.

Click on Next.

Select I want to set up my Internet connection manually as above, then click on Next.

Select I connect through a phone line and a modem then click on Next.

Enter the new phone number, 0845 028 8888, then click on the Advanced button to display the screen below.

In Connection, select PPP and for Logon procedure select None. Click on the Addresses tab.

Select My ISP automatically provides... Click on OK to return to the phone number screen. Click on Next to continue. 11. Enter your username and password then click Next.

Enter a connection name such as Mistral Internet and then click Next.

Select No and click Next. 14. Click on Finish to complete the setup.

You have successfully created a Dial up connection to RYA Online.
