Technical Support - Windows ME Dial Up Networking

This document assumes that you already have another dial up Internet connection with another provider and that Dial Up Networking and the TCP/IP Protocol are installed on your computer.

If you do not already have another dial up Internet connection on your system you are advised to download the customised configuration program here.

This document will help you manually configure Windows ME to connect to RYA Online using Dial-Up Networking. Please read the entire document before attempting to connect.

Creating and configuring a dial up connection to RYA Online

Go to My Computer and double click on the Control Panel icon. Now, double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon, then select Make New Connection and follow the steps below.

Type Mistral Internet as the name for the computer you are dialing, and make sure that your modem appears in the Select a device box. Click on Next.

Type in the telephone number for your ISP- 0845 028 8888, and click on Next. Click on Finish In the Dial-Up Networking window.

Then right-click on the new connection and select Properties. Select the Networking tab.

Make sure that the only option ticked in this window is TCP/IP and then select TCP/IP Settings.

Ensure that both Server assigned IP address and Server assigned name server addresses are ticked, then click OK.

Double-click the Mistral Internet icon and enter your username and password. Click Connect.
